Before spending money on any advertising platform, you need to leverage the stats you already have in your website or e-commerce platform. Look at the trends of your organic and paid traffic to see what type of audiences convert for you and which do not. Does the device type make an impact? Do people tend to purchase when visiting one landing page over another? If you are target audiences on our network that your existing stats say do not convert, you should not expect to see any improvement.
How to optimize your campaign to focus on conversions
We offer advertisers a free campaign analysis report that updates in real-time as your ad campaigns run across our network of publishing partners. The report displays optimization suggestions based on the performance of your campaign, including bids won/lost, average bid price, and more. Unfortunately, this data is only really useful for determining how to optimize your campaign for clicks or impressions, but it does not provide any insight into how your campaigns are actually performing at a conversion-level per publisher.
To gain access to this valuable conversion data, you must first implement our free conversion tracking pixel and setup goals to track conversions that occur on your property.
Once you've gotten our conversion tracking pixel implemented successfully, you should see a conversion breakdown on your Conversions tab. When clicking into a conversion goal metric, you will be brought to a new page with a comprehensive breakdown per publisher for that tracked conversion metric.
This page showcases the power of MANTIS analytics; it is certainly one of the most valuable tools we offer advertisers, so be sure to take advantage of this data. Easily compare average cost-per-leads (CPL) per publisher and identify websites that are doing great as well as others that may need removed from your campaign's rotation.
Understanding the terms on your Conversion tab
What is a Click Conversion?
A click conversion occurs when a visitor sees your ad, clicks on it, and registers some sort of "conversion trigger" (e.g., user reaches purchase thank you page, sign-up confirmation, etc...).
What is a View-through Conversion?
A view-through conversion is when a user converts on your offer after seeing your ad. Note: Users do NOT click on your ad on-site, but they are tracked visiting your website and converting at a later date.
- An example of a view-through conversion could be advertising on mobile. For instance, mobile readers may see an ad for a product or service they are interested in but they do not act on the advertisement there and then, on their phone, out and about, in public... Instead, many people wait until they get to a computer to pull up your website, research your product or service, and ultimately make the purchase.
What does the overall tracked conversions figure on my Conversions tab refer to?
The overall tracked conversions number is the total conversions tracked on your website, which includes MANTIS and as well as any conversions from other sources that occurred on the page you have the pixel installed.
"Can I choose specific sites to advertise on?"
Yes, you can remove certain publishers from your rotation for free, but only after you install our free conversion tracking pixel and have data to support your decision. Advertisers looking to hand-select publishers without testing the waters are required to pay network premiums.
